We all met outside Red at the IFC mall on Saturday evening to celebrate the lovely Cooper and Rebecca’s birthdays which fell this weekend. The IFC (International Financial Centre) is the tallest building in Hong Kong and is on the Island. They have a public outside seating area with views that look over the harbour and onto the Island so it makes a perfect meeting point for our group, seeing as though our flats, are all rather compact! Beforehand we had gone for supper at Branto, a vegetarian (!), Indian restaurant at Tsim Sha Tsui chosen by Rebecca, a fellow vegetarian! In true Chinese style and unable to chose (or understand) which dishes we wanted, we just ordered a selection and shared them between us which was delicious! As we all sat and chatted, it felt and seemed like we had known each other for much longer than the less than three weeks since we arrived, and the fact that I think everyone on the program turned out and arrived at some point in the evening, given me a strong sense that we will all be seeing quite a lot of each other over the course of the year.
